Dining Room Renovation

This dining room gave me the heebyjeebies when we moved in. The same nappy carpet that was in the living room but maybe more stained. We painted, threw down the same wood as the livingroom, and built a farmhouse table and bench and renod some old chairs we found on Craigslist. Some awesome pieces from HobbyLobby and I massively love our diningroom.

Living Room Renovation

So the living room was definitely one of the grosser rooms with carpet that was matted with cat urine and fuzzy from much use. Not to mention old dirty ugh walls. It was such a big space but when I first saw it, I was not impressed. It is now my favorite room in the house and where we live most of our indoor life at the fooranch. We ripped up that carpet, installed beautiful weathered wood laminate, scrubbed and…

I revamped this dresser by coating it with Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint and then Annie Sloan Soft Wax. I also removed and installed new handles. This is my favorite piece that I have done and I adore it every time I walk past and run my fingers over the soft finish.

Dresser – Chalk Paint

So we are pretty excited to be setting up our guestroom for a special reason. This week I revamped an older dresser to contemp it up and have it match the style of the room better. Here are some before and after photos.         I used two coats of Dixie Belle Sea Glass and one coat of Dixie Belle Clear Coat to protect the chalk paint. I thought about doing a distressed two layer technique but I really…

Electrical Shocks

So, we woke up the morning of supersiah’s birthday to find that the lights were not working in the master bath. To make matters worse, our coffee bar was also sin electric, which made sense being right below the master bath – did I mention coffee bar? This wasn’t going to do, especially with all the work required to prep a party for 50+. We moved the keurig and showered in the dark and made do for a day or two…
